Hey all,
I know this isn't for everyone, but I just got back from the 3 day Coombs Country Bluegrass Festival, was that an eye opener. They had several bands, Clover Point Drifters, The Stillhouse Gang, Workin' On It, and Shearwater from Victoria. Also from the USA, The Weavils from Seattle and Queen's Bluegrass from Sedro-Wooley. Also a few BC Mainland bands. I never thought I would like this type of music, but how wrong I was. The best was when my guitar buddy and I went to the after hour until 2 am jam sessions in the RV site we were in. That was the best for me. I even met Phil McFarlane from the Chillowacks, an old time band. He had to be the best mandoline and guitar player I have ever heard or met personally. Imagine a bunch of old gray haired farts getting together every night for singing and playing. What talent to hear, and they encouraged any young beginners to join their circle to participate. Never too old to enjoy such great music or the musicians.
