I just came back from my five day vacation at South Dakota, it's been over 13 years since I was last there. I gotta say, it's a awesome place to be at with the Badlands, Deadwood, and the Black Hills (We camped at the Black Hills, so imagine camping on a woodsy mountain). We had a bunch of pictures taken while we were there, though I can only show off two that I've taken as of now.
These two shots are of the few fossils I got while there, they are both Trilobite fossils (Small ones at that, but they are very well preserved). Anyone that knows their prehistoric teachings will know it's an extinct Arthropod that lived millions of years ago. Anyhow, here they are (Sorry for the somewhat shotty quality, blame my camera!).
You can tell I'm quite the fossil fanatic!

Sexy mate, from the looks of it (as you said your camera isnt that great) They are really detailed fossils. Always cool to see one. I used to be a prehistoric freak. Did you get to keep them?

Yup, these are two of the three I got from the trip. I did try to look for some more fossils while at the Badlands, but I couldn't find any (I did find some old plants that was "glued" to the soft stone), nor would they let me take them anyway.
I got a bunch of other fossils at home, including an Ammonite shell imprint fossil from France, hardened sediment containing a whole stem of a extinct water plant, and a few tiny bone fragments lying around somewhere. I could take some extra pics of them using a far better camera than the one I used, that is, if anyone is interested (I want to reserve this thread for some South Dakota pictures )...
